Established in 1979, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) is a private and autonomous college, located in Bangalore. It is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and is run by the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust (MGVP). DSCE is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It has also been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the NAAC with Grade ‘A’. Recently, DSCE has also received recognition from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).

 

The college has been ranked 25, 43 and 73 for Architecture, Engineering and Private Engineering, respectively by India Today, 2020. At present, DSCE has 21 departments that collectively offer 15 UG and 13 PG courses in multiple specialisations. DSCE has signed several MoUs with leading research organisations and industries. It also has an academic linkage with Automation Anywhere to set up a bot lab at its campus and enhance the skills of the students on Robotic Process Automation Technology. DSCE is spread over 29 acres of the sprawling campus. The campus has a state-of-the-art infrastructure that comprises spacious classrooms, several laboratories, a library and a digital library, sports, yoga, meditation centre, etc. The college has several seminars and conference halls where national and international-level seminars, workshops and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) are conducted. The college also has highly experienced faculty who take the responsibility of mentoring a certain number of students through personal attention, paving way for the student’s professional growth.

DSCE Admission Process

The college offers a facility of an online application process for all programmes. Candidates, who meet the given eligibility criteria, need to register and fill an application form to apply for a particular programme. The course-wise details regarding DSCE admissions are mentioned below:

  • BE admission is based on JEE Main/ COMEDK UGET/ KCET score. For lateral entry admissions, CET scores are considered
  • Admission to the MTech programme is based on GATE/ Karnataka PGCET score
  • Candidates willing to seek MBA/ MCA admission must have a valid score in Karnataka PGCET/ MAT/ CAT/ KMAT
  • For admission to the PhD/ MSc (research) programme, VTU conducts a ULRAT entrance test

DSCE Bangalore Cutoff Trends: BTech (Round 2)

KCET Round 2 cutoff for BTech specialisations offered at DSCE Bangalore is compared to the KCET Round 2 cutoff of the past two years. The decreasing ranks imply an increased level of competition. On the contrary, increasing ranks imply a low level of competition.

DSCE Courses

At the UG level, DSCE offers a four-year BE programme across 15 specialisations. The college also offers three PG programmes, including MTech, MBA and MCA. The MTech programme is offered in 11 specialisations. All the three PG programmes are of two-year duration, comprising four semesters. DSCE Placements

DSCE has a placement cell that coordinates with recruiting companies and handles the entire end-to-end placement process. It is provided with a well-equipped auditorium for organising pre-placement talks and well-furnished rooms for training, interviews and counselling. The cell works closely with the final year students and companies hiring fresher students. It is also committed to enhancing the employability skills of the students by organising training programmes, including aptitude training programmes, soft-skills training, subject/domain-specific training and entrepreneurship development programmes.

In addition to the placement cell, DSCE established a ‘Centre for Innovation & Leadership’ (CIL) in 2006 that bridges the gap between academics and corporate realities. It imparts innovative soft skill training programmes to enable individuals to get placed in top companies. The college bagged the highest salary package of Rs 20 LPA during DSCE placements 2020.
