About Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology

The Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology has come in to existence on 5th August 1994. Mr. M. P.Purushothaman is the Chairman and Founder of the Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. He has a versatile personality who is actively involved with several industrial and educational activities. He is the chairman of well known “Empee Group” consisting of Star Hotels, Alcoholic Beverages, Sugar Mills, Chemicals, Distilleries, Power generation etc. He has created the Empee Educational and charitable trust with a noble object of establishing educational institutions, particularly professional colleges and technical schools to impart quality education. Mr.M.P.Purushothaman is basically hotelier who is closely associated with the many hospitality organizations. He is the past President of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India and President of Tamilnadu Hotel Owners Association. His rich experience contributes to strong linkage between the institution and hotel industry which enhance the employability and many exciting career opportunities for our students. Under the dynamic leadership of this towering personality, the Empee IHMCT is taking giant stride. His vision is to develop the EmpeeIHMCT as one of the best training Institute in hospitality sector in India, producing professionals to meet and exceed the expectations of the ever growing Hospitality industry in India and abroad.
