NIT Silchar: Last 5 years NIRF rankings in engineering, overall

The National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar), which was founded in 1967, received an overall ranking of 83 under the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023. Considering that it is now seven places lower than the 76th place in the NIRF 2022 rankings.

The Institute, which received presumed university status in 2002, did not rank in the QS World University Ranking for 2023 but did put in the 601–800 range in the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking 2024.

In the previous few years, the institution was unable to obtain a spot in the innovation and research category of the NIRF ranking 2023.
